Back to Life, Back to Reality

After we got back into town, we spent a lot of time unpacking, washing, cleaning and sleeping!  I slept in till 9 for three days and let the kids have free reign of the house.  Good parenting, I know.  Brooke got a new swimsuit, which totally matched her personality.  As Hailey said "loud and colorful!"  Hailey loves cheetah print and this was one of her new school outfits.  We drive past A&W one day and they were having free root beer float day.  It was a good surprise.  We picked a bunch of corn from a woman's from church field.  We had five or six pillowcases full and ended up giving a lot away.  After we had processed and frozen all that corn, I wasn't dying to see corn again!  But it has been so nice to have fresh/frozen corn in the freezer!  Spencer helped too. I made him husk a bunch before he went to his friend's house to play.  A good tomato from our garden.  We had quite a few th...

Idaho to HOME! (Summer part 6)

This was our last hotel we stayed at.  We were all so tired but still managed to swim and watch some shows.  William slept horribly this night.  It was a rough one but we managed.  Spencer's only complaint was that they didn't have sausage at the breakfast. He still talks about it! Crazy kids and a gorgeous Nebraska sunset!   William stayed pretty happy with this sucker. He kept falling asleep while eating it and then waking up to suck on it, then fall asleep again.  It was pretty funny and sticky. Ah, Wyoming.  It was less boring than South Dakota. When you drive across four states in three days, you notice silly things like the odometer reading 55,555 and nobody cares except for you! Nebraska in a nutshell.  But there is something to be said for the beauty of the plains! We came across the first pony express station somewhere in Nebraska.  So, we made a detour and checked it out.  The kids got some f...

Las Vegas to Idaho (Summer Part 5)

We were able to spend a lot of time with Michelle and her family while we were visiting.  We got to go to the Springs Preserve and they had a miniature golfing exhibit, which was so fun for the kids.  They ask to go all the time now. William was so excited over the train. He just loves them!  Funny, the last time we took a picture on this train, I think we only had two kids! There was a fur exhibit that Spencer thought was pretty cool.   We visited Aunt Sarah at her work.  It was fun and crazy and I am sure they were happy when we all left! Hailey hurt her foot, so William let her use his stroller when we went to take cookies to the Mitchell's.  A thank you because they invited us to swim at their pool with their daughter and grandkids. It was so fun. This is what happens after travelling alone for a few weeks.  But I got my wish and there was a wonderful rainstorm and I got to smell the beautiful Las Vegas rain. Michel...
