Boston!!! (out of order)

Image
We got to take a day trip to Boston.  What an amazing city!!  It is my new favorite city.  So much to do, see, eat, play. It's clean and beautiful and old and new combined. Our first stop was at the USS Constitution.  It's called Old Ironsides.  We couldn't go inside because they were doing some work on it but it was super cool to see.  Right on the Boston Harbor.  It was a perfect day too.  No humidity and perfect temperature. We got so lucky! I was so amazed by the architecture and the green growing everywhere.  In random places and it was just so fun to see.  We went on a bus tour with a crazy and hilarious Boston born and bred driver.  He had lots of fun stories and his driving was very memorable.  We were able to see a lot of the sites that way, though next time, we'll just do a walking tour. There were some cool water sprayers that the kids loved.  There was lots of random stuff like this througho...

Indianapolis temple open house (July)

We happened to stop for lunch in Sandy Hook, CT which we didn't realize.  A lady at the store said that the whole community pulled together after the shooting and that they felt a lot of love.  She told us to stop at this little restaurant called The General Store.  It was a consignment shop as well.  I got two souvenirs a blue awesome pot and a little straw doll.  They had the best BLT sandwich ever!!  I want to go back everyday. Driving through Pennsylvania was so gorgeous and it looked just like New York.  Which was also a long drive.  But we got to go through the Applachians and they are different kinds of mountains. The kids were starting to go a little crazy in the car and Blake was starting to fall asleep driving, so Blake started sitting in the back with them.  I drove for a long long time but Harry Potter kept me occupied.  We wanted to go to Hershey PA too and Gettysburg but we just didn't have enough time.  ...

Hanging around in Connecticut (July)

Image
Connecticut is absolutely adorable.  I was ready to move there.  We went to this cute donut shop 2 or 3 times?  It was fresh and yummy. And Irish which I loved.  They had these Boston cream donuts that were absolutely amazing.  And if I can eat those instead of a maple bar, then they must be great! Cute little store front outside of the donut shop.  Also, cute little girl. We went to an air museum nearby. The boys absolutely loved it.  It was pretty cool to see the history of flight.   Spencer was in flight heaven. They had these great pedal planes  They had a dress up section that was so amazing.  William was so cute in this suit. We tried to have chill days/hours too.  Because we didn't want to go crazy with exhaustion.  It was fun to snuggle and we got addicted to American Ninja Warrior.   The girls snuggling.  Just a cute moment. Brooke with a little attitude but isn't she ...

Palmyra and the Atlantic Ocean (July)

Image
Being at the Atlantic Ocean for the first time was thrilling.  It was beautiful and warm and Jillian told us the perfect beach to go to that had lots of space for us and was clean.  The kids couldn't get enough and we stayed for six hours without any sunburns.  We could have gone to the beach for days and it wouldn't have been enough.  Also, having Subway right next to the ocean was just super great.  I wanted to work at that Subway just because of the location. A beautiful stretch of rocks that Brooke and I climbed/walked/stumbled across. I don't know how long it stretched out but it was longer than I thought! We had a great time until my toe got majorly stubbed as I slid down a rock.  I thought it was broken but it wasn't.  I just had to gimp around a bit and wait for it to not be swollen and purple. It was still worth it. Brooke is such a mermaid.  She was meant to live near the ocean or at least a pond, but this landlocked state is ...
