First Week of Preschool and Turning Over a New Leaf

Image
Hailey is in a co-op preschool in the ward and was so excited to start. She was ready a half hour before school even started and kept asking if it was time to go. She is pretty psyched about her Tinkerbell backpack too. She did such a great job in preschool and came home with some fun crafts. I just love the stage she is at right now. She is turning into such a big girl and against all odds, has become one of my best friends!! Who says girls and their moms can't be friends? Here is the new leaf part. I have no clue how to do girl hair. So, my friend, Katie told me about these cool websites with step by step instructions on how to do it. It has been surprisingly fun and Hailey loves it because she gets to spray the water bottle! The sites are on my friend's list if anyone is interested. I am in a blogging mood apparantly. This is the infamous green dress that I got her a few months ago while Blake was out of town. We were in Sears and all of a sudden she is freaking out...

Some other ones

We have been doing some fun crafts recently. Hailey is pretty creative and at a great age right now. I got these from Oriental Trading for 50 cents each. Already cut out, so less work for mom=a good thing! Sarah came over the other day to hang out and watch Ellen. We both love Ellen. The lady is totally hilarious!! I don't care for her lifestyle, but everyone should have a good daily dose of Ellen! Sarah and I had a goal when she turned 18 that we would go see Price is Right. Well, we changed it to go see Ellen. So, someday, I swear!! Spencer loves crawling up the stairs and it is getting so fast that most of the time he is at the top before I know he is gone. Then he sits on the top step and looks down at me and laughs. He loves hanging his leg over his booster seat during mealtimes. In fact, he love mealtimes.... We have yet to get a good picture of this, but we will hold Spencer over our heads and say Superbaby and he will but his arms and legs out. It is hilarious. ...

Spencer's First Haircut!!!

Image
Out of order, but here's an after picture. My friend, Nicole has two boys who have great haircuts, so she did Spencer's too. He was so great and sat still as well as an 11 month old baby can! He got about 3 inches of hair cut off. And my friend Sari asked me if I dyed his hair because it was so white/blonde after and no, I didn't dye his hair. Who the heck does that?! Here's a before. Just a freaky/funny picture. He has had 8 teeth for three months now!! Two cute guys ready for church. The haircut makes him look like such a little boy (Spencer not Blake.=)

Funny Little Stories

Image
Here are some funny little stories that I wanted to share..... When we were at the beach, my mom and I saw these benches and were like "they can mean hot babe." So, of course, I had to sit there and take a picture for Blake to put in his office....then, I realized, hey, it means Heather Bell (I'm not really that dumb), so it is even more appropriate! Hailey rode around in the beach house with her puppy much of the time. I think you'll get a kick out of this one. We were at the pier one particularly windy night and woosh, suddenly my skirt flew right up showing off my "bloomers" (as Sarah refers to them). So, of course, Hailey laughs her head off and now tells everyone that she saw my "boo boos".... This is pretty nerdy. But have you ever gotten everyone dressed and then realize that you are all wearing the same color? At least it is a different shade and at least my boo boos aren't showing. Sarah wanted a new facebook picture, so here ...

4 Things I am Excited About!

Image
1) Duffy and Sarah: These cd's are awesome! I love Duffy because she is so jazzy but totally modern jazzy. She is great! And I love Sarah Bareilles because she has such a great voice and the piano is wonderful too. Try them out sometime! 2) Arm and Hammer Laundry Detergent: Who know they made laundry soap?! But I am loving it. It smells so good and doesn't clump at all for a powder soap. I came across it on accident when my regular soap wasn't at the store. I don't really want to spend $20 for Tide yet, so I went with this and I am very happy with it! 3) Sophie Kinsella: She is a totaly hilarious British author who has written the Shopaholic series among others. The reason I am so excited is because I was at Target the other night and found out that she she also writes as Madeleine Wickham! Woo hoo! I thought I had read all of her books and was looking forward to a new release in the future, but now I get to go find all the rest of hers under this pen name (and w...

Why don't I live here?!

Image
Our friends, the Crowders, let my family use their beach house in Huntington for a week. It was great and so nice of them!! Blake had to end up working, so I braved the drive with the kids and they were so good!! I couldn't believe it! They slept great too, what else can a mom ask for? Thanks again, Crowders!

Bingo!!

Image
My mom and Sarah went and got some funny prizes for bingo. Whoever got the pregnancy test was supposed to take it. Nobody wanted to so we made Michelle take it. We were all surprised to find out she was pregnant! (Just joking, we knew but there you go, dollar store pregnancy test that worked!) Clayton went to Disneyland and there was a girl who had the same ring as him. tee hee

The Beach

Image
Spencer loved eating the sand and standing in the waves. When we had to leave the ocean for the last time, he cried and reached his arms out. I forgot to sunscreen half of his face, so he had a little sunburn that looked like a star. He was then known as "starbaby" and "Phantom" for most of the trip. Sarah getting wiped out by a huge wave.

The Aquarium

Image
Hailey with the Dory fish. I've always thought these things were hilarious! Ethan touching stingrays. Hailey was too nervous about the stingrays, but got brave later and touched some starfish. Uncle Clayton being scary.

Hailey and Spencer

Eating at Barstow McDonald's train. McDonald's is pretty gross, but who doesn't want to eat on a train?! Spencer, of course, can eat anything, anywhere! The kid is 23 lbs! Yes, I have a very strong right arm. I don't know if anybody remembers the show Animaniacs, but Hailey watched that most of the trip. It was great to relive it!

Donate Blood and Get Movie Tickets!

My sister works for United Blood Services, so I am always hearing about how I need to donate blood more. Today I was at the Aliante Library and turns out they are having a blood drive Sat, August 16th from 10 am to 3 pm. If you have never done it, it only takes about 20 minutes plus you can really help out people who need it, especially babies.=) So, log on to www.bloodhero.com and use the sponsor code aliante or call 562-2166. And who can pass up movie tickets? The next Bond is coming out soon, not to mention Harry Potter, Twilight, etc. in the near future. So, offer your arm up!

I am......

You Are Cinderella! Dignified and hard working. With a gentle and soft-spoken manner you have something many people don't. Patience. Even through the moments of heartbreak you're still able to hold onto all of your hopes and dreams. Bide your time; your dream will come true. Which Disney Princess Are You? I took this quiz twice, because I didn't think the whole "wait till your dream come true" thing was okay, because I am pretty okay with my life right now, but oh well. Seeing as how I don't really LOVE animals a whole lot, I'll trade that for a carriage and beautiful ball gown.
