Nativity and Christmas
Opening stockings. Spencer really like it. He ate a whole peppermint patty with the wrapper on and it was leaking out of his mouth. We did the Nativity for our family's Christmas Eve party. Spencer was a little shepherd and Hailey was an evil angel, who bawled her eyes out of exhaustion. So, it was a silent night, holy night!
Cuties
Spencer loves cleaning, seriously!! He will pick up anything and help put it away. Plus, he loves to shred papers. My sister, Michelle got this shirt for Spencer for Christmas. I think it is hilarious! Her son has one that is a cowboy. Yay for Hollywood boutiques Feeding hot chocolate He's ginormous!!!
All Dressed Up
Blake's mom sent Hailey and Spencer super cute Christmas outfits, but they wouldn't cooperate with pictures. They were these other ones on of the weeks that we got them. Soon, we'll get some up for you Nanah! Blake and I before his work party. Yay for evil red eyes!
Christmas Carnival
There was a Christmas carnival in our community a few weeks ago. Pony rides, petting zoo, crafts, etc. Kids had a fun time, until we saw Santa and Hailey flipped out. I think Spencer was confused to why he was sitting with some strange red suited man! Hailey got to climb into a real fire truck. Pretty cool! Got a flower painted on her and didn't even freak. Usually she hates paint, etc. on her face unless she does it herself. She was very mad when she saw it was streaked from the crying while sitting on Santa's lap. After the carnival, needless to say, they BOTH took naps!! It's a Christmas miracle!!
Snow, yes, snow!!!
Our lame snowman. (not Spencer, of course, the mound of snow behind him!)=) Everyone in the Las Vegas blogging world has already posted about this, but they didn't have pictures of my kids in them, so I guess I have to too! Woke up Monday morning to snow and snowed all day. Maybe got 3-4 inches? It was great because nobody was out so I could do my errands in peace without the usual pushing and shoving that accompanies Christmas. Again, snow Wednesday and got even more. I think it even drifted (gasp!). I am sorry that I am not more excited about the snow, but after living in it for nearly six years in Rexburg, the snow is not as exciting as it used to be. Although, they did say this was the biggest snow storm in Vegas in thirty years! Hailey and Spencer almost liked jumping in the puddles the next day better than the actual snow! I got cookish and made bread and attempted my first homemade minestrone. Turned out good! Made these cinnamon/allspice ornaments. They smell heavenl...
Fun Times
A lady in my ward asked if I could make this t-shirt quilt for her husband for Christmas. I am pretty excited about how it turned out! Hailey's preschool class!! She loves her friend Bella. Sillly! Ii've been lazy about making Spencer use a spoon or fork, so he is working on it and did pretty well minus the yogurt in his hair!
Hailey and Dad Date
Every once in awhile, Blake and Hailey go on a date to the Halloween store (party city), the pet store and get a treat. They let us come along this time and Spencer had a great time. He really loved the rodents...I think I should be scared!
New Ornaments and Decorating the tree
Each year, the kids get a new ornament for the tree. When they leave (tear) they will get to take them with them. It has been a fun tradition. Spencer has loved the tree, but has been nice to it too!! He only tried to pull it down once. Good boy. Mostly, he just looks at it and says "oooooh"
Thanksgiving.....late i know
Thanksgiving was fun this year....especially for Spencer. We all know how he loves his food! We were happy to have a very full table! My aunt Jenny and her new husband Scott came. It was great to meet him. PS. Hailey made the pilgrim hat in preschool. And the centerpieces below too, I didn't even cheat off online, made it up myself!! Go, me! Hailey's many Thanksgiving crafts!

Sunset
I stole this from a blog. I thought it was beautiful..... During these times that seem so hard to bear, I rely on my testimony of our Savior I know that you are with him now in heaven smiling down upon all of us. I am brought back to a story i heard a while ago about a young boy who watches his mother embroider, When he looks from underneath her lap he doesn't understand why his mother would make something so confusing all the light colors combined with all the dark ones. He had a confused look on his face and he asked his mother why she was making such a mess. She told him son you go about doing your business and i will go about doing my own and when i am finished i will bring you up on my lap and i will show you what i've done.
