Spring is Life (April)

Image
We planted these bulbs in the fall and look, they worked!!  Right now, they're pretty sporadic but I am hoping in a few years that they will fill in nicely. Planted some new hydrangeas, my favorite! Our tree out front had nothing around it, so I planted some plants from a lady at church.  It went pretty well! William and I went for a walk by the river one day after preschool. It was sunny and warm. Hailey performed with the school band.  I think this was the only picture I got but they did great! When all the kids have glasses, you end up with spares on your head for safekeeping. William being a goofball. My college roommate, Sherise, and I used to rub the Easter candies on our lips to make lipstick. I did it and it freaked out the kids.  Perfect plan. Hailey made these in pottery at school. Cinnamon roll and donut. One for me and Blake. Running free at the park never feels so good as in spring! We had races afte...

Blake and I ran away to Galena (April)

The Pence's took our kids for the weekend so we could go to Galena, a cute little town on the Iowa/Illinois border.  This is a view of Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin. So beautiful! A rich guy lived on the top of this hill and he got tired of climbing it so he had an elevator built in the 1800's.  We rode on it and it was pretty cool. We found a good restaurant by chance after the one we were going to go to looked sketchy.  It was so delicious! Relaxing room. Loved the tub and fireplace! When we got to Galena, we realized we forgot our suitcase.  So, we went to the only store in town that wasn't an antique store to grab some clothes.  It was frustrating and hilarious. We also picked up this cd for $5.  Good times. We loved the old beautiful pathways in town. It was so beautiful and peaceful here.  We drove into Wisconsin to say we had been there.  We ate where we wanted and when we wanted and st...

I love our memories (April)

Brooke wanted to wear lipstick one day. I love how they read together and enjoy the same stuff. April Fool's Day mint toothpaste oreos. tee hee.  I gave them some real ones after that. The kids got back at me for the April Fools joke by toilet papering the front room.  They are hilarious. And they changed the clocks. The Iowa skies are so magical. When the kids make a fort and are playing games together, don't ruin a good thing! Conference bingo! I was having a grumpy day.  When William came home from school, he wanted to go out in the rain. I went with him and my mood improved and I loved hanging out with him in the rain. Thank goodness for these awesome kids! Signs of spring!  Hooray! Brooke was working so hard to get #1 on the amount of minutes she read in the month. It was a class competition for the end of the school year and she won one time.  It was good to see her love reading. Lunch date with Brooke at C...
