Snow and a fun family day

Image
After we got all of the horrid sickness out of our house, we decided we needed to go on a fun family date to celebrate survival!!  So, we went to chick fil a and played.  Then we went to the John Deere pavillion (Spencer's favorite place EVER!) and to see Rise of the Guardians at the movie theatre.    Brooke was a bit pooped after all of our fun, so she took a rest at the movie theatre.  It actually went pretty great and the kids loved the movie.  First time we had taken all 4 kids to the theater.  William and Brooke in a tractor.  William's first time.  Tractor heaven.  Spencer was so excited to show Blake the John Deere Pavilion.  It was so cute to watch him.  Frozen MIssisippi.  It is really amazing to see such a huge river freeze.  Only the cold can stop the mighty MIssissippi.  We had a good snowfall and the kids loved playing in it.  They missed the first one because they w...

Creative Pictures and Burnt Marshmallows

One day, Spencer was upset with me and went upstairs and drew this sad picture of himself.  It was sad and so cute.  He was just so bummed.  So, we talked about it and he ended up crossing it out with an X.  But not before I got a picture! I love the innocence of children and how they will really tell you how it is in whatever way they can.  We were making smores one night and Blake burnt some marshmallows to a crisp!  Interesting art form.  This is Hailey's adaptation of life at our house.  Spencer saying he he and Hailey yelling "Stop" at him.  True to life!  Spencer being an explorer! We went to a hockey game with our friends, Tristan and Mark and Macy.  The kids loved the music and fights and the free popcorn.  We left a little early because we had 9:00 am church.  Made for a brutal Sunday, but still worth it!   I got these creative project boxes for $2, so we tried making some pa...

Soccer, Cookies, etc.

I had one of those "fun mom" days when I Spencer wanted to run wild through the rain puddles.  It was freezing out but I just had to go with him and watch.  It was great.  He was soaking and so happy. And this sunset was across the street.  Can't get better than a happy boy and beautiful scenery!   William knew how to crawl by 9 months but would hardly take any pictures doing it so this is our best attempt.  Can't get enough of that little face!  It gets pretty foggy out here somedays.  It is really neat and creepy.  This picture doesn't even do it justice. It is sure nice to live in a place with seasons though.  The kids were in soccer for two sessions this year.  Brooke pretty much ran around in circles and would sometimes kick the ball.  There was a helper there who she really liked and nicknamed "pink mommy" because she always had a pink sweatshirt on.  So, that is how I got her to go and ...
