My Sweet Spencer

So, recently I heard from a well meaning friend that she hadn't seen many pictures of Spencer. Well, number 1, Spencer is a horrible picture taker and when I say, horrible, I mean drooling, never look at camera, moving too much, etc. So, we did our own little photo shoot the other day while the girls were off doing who knows what. It was great. My little guy is such a sweet, special person. He has gotten such a fun and entertaining personality in the last six months or so.

Spencer is generally a very happy and loving guy as long as he is fed and has his cars handy. He is totally into car transporters, diggers, airplanes, anything to do with dirt or digging and meat. He is a man's man!
He has the sweetest smile that brightens my day. He says "Good morning" every morning and loves to cuddle us, especially Blake. He and Blake have a great bond that is just so sweet. They love watching Star Wars together and now Spencer will sing the Star Wars theme song. Yes, Blake is proud of that!
He is also so playful. He loves to "WRESTLE!" which was awful for me when I fell down the stairs a few weeks ago. So, Hailey stepped in for the most part and was nice to him as he tried to slam her down. He has a contagious laugh and loves jumping on backs.
Spencer is also a thoughtful, pensive guy. He knows lots of words and songs, but is a man of few words. What?? A guy who doesn't talk much? I know, weird! But he is never shy to give hugs and kisses to his sisters. They are the first people he looks for in the morning. He calls Brooke "Brookie" and gives her hugs and kisses all of the time. He and Hailey will cuddle up together and watch movies or lay in the tent or read books. He is so patient to go along with Hailey's entertaining plans.
For a few months, I was about to sell Spencer! He was attacking kids in nursery, biting, hitting, all the fun stuff that boys do. But he stopped suddenly and is so gentle (for the most part). That doens't stop him from being a wild man though! He runs like crazy!




Spencer is great. Full of life, fun and joy! I'm so grateful for this sweet little guy who has brought so much fun to our lives.

Funny, I actually started a blog yesterday all about Erin - I guess we had the same train of thought :) I've written so much about Elaina sometimes Erin gets overlooked. Sad but true :( Fun to read all about Spencer. He is such a cute little guy!

We have been doing a lot of swimming, popsicle eating, water playing, anything to keep cool in this awful heat! This $15 pool was the best purchase we have ever made, in my opinion! Spencer loves it because it is just a big bath for him. Some people in our ward "donate" their pools to us hot people. It is great. This is Spencer's first swim. Poor kid. Believe it or not, he did enjoy it. Hailey swam across the pool with her floaties, so she was pretty psyched. About ten seconds after the swimming. He was so pooped!

Spencer getting ready to become a Priest for church. He was pretty happy about it and his new responsibilities. Wlliam always being slightly choked. Blake hung up my organizer I got from Marci Durrant's barn sale We had pasta making night competition. It was so fun to use our new pasta roller. Hailey and Spencer and Blake were a team. Brooke and William and I were a team. We really need to do this again! First time Spencer did temple baptisms where he was the baptizer. He baptized Taitlyn! Woo! Lovely winter sunset Made something new! The boys ate them right up! Lunch with Hailey! Another fun bakery order! That's it for January! Always a bit exhausted after December.

Brookey Brooke

Brooke Eileen Bell was born Aug 24th at 11:11 pm. 7 lbs, 15 oz, 20 inches.....and tons of great black hair!! Heres the story for all you interested people. I had cleaned the house all day and played with the kids. Was about to make dinner around 4 and started to feel a little weird and crampy, but didn't think much about it. Around 5, I was making chocolate chip waffles for dinner and realized the contractions had gone on for an hour and were about 3 minutes apart now. Called Blake and said I might be in labor, but don't worry, it would probably go away. Kept making waffles...called my mom and told her I was probably in labor. Blake got home, left for hospital around 6. We went to the ER and they said go to labor and delivery. Around 630, I was at a 4. Got all set up on IV and by the time epidural came around 830, I was at a 6. Moved to a 10 pretty fast after. Pushed a few times and there she was!!
