Chicago!!

We thought we should go somewhere fun over Spring Break, so we went to Chicago for three days.  It was a cool place.  The kids loved the hotel and we kept busy and exhausted!! I didn't get pictures of Spencer at the lego store or the girls at American Doll because we were just worn out! But you can imagine their smiles.  We had just walked 2 miles trying to find the stores and they were troopers.  Pretty frozen but it all worked out.  Next time, I want to go with Blake and check out Little Italy.

 Here is my other favorite guy.  We went to a children's museum for hours and Spencer loved this bus of course!

 William is such a trooper to go along on all of our adventures. He can fall asleep anywhere, as long as he is on Blake. You can see that Blake feels the same way.

 We had the kids earn money before the trip so they could get a prize.  Brooke used hers on this ten dollar sucker and bear.  That was hard to let her buy, but she still sleeps with the bear.  The sucker is another story.  She ate most of it then went hysterical so it ended up being thrown out the car window.  It had been a  looong day.  And we were trying to get back on the freeway, which was closed for construction.  And the handy GPS sent us down a long detour, which had us going through some kinda scary neighborhoods. 6 miles through sketchy neighborhoods can feel like 20!

 These are out of place.....but they are from Spring Break when we went to a fossil museum at the University near us and had lunch at a park.  it was freezing but the kids were so happy to run around!  And we got to eat our cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory which was complete heaven.  Chocolate Godiva, we were nice and shared a bite with the kids.  Spencer took one bite and spit it out.  Boy doesn't understand.

 Fossil dig at the Kids Museum,  Hailey is really into fossils.  We have this very fun (obnoxious) cd called A T Rex named Sue.  The kids love it and have all the songs memorized. It has saved us on many trips.  I might have the songs memorized too...

 Brooke spent an hour molding this clay.  She loves art!

 We had lunch in a beautiful garden pavillion.  While we were there some tourists asked to take pictures with us to show people Americans.  Kind of odd.  =)

 First ferris wheel ride for the kids! Brooke was with Blake.  I couldn't take all four and Brooke is wild (and Blake didn't want to go)!  Hailey was brave in her own seat.  Spencer needed to sit by me and I was fine with that!

 We went with our friends the Holyoaks.  Our kids are good buds.  Spencer and William are long lost brothers, they are so similar!  Hailey and Brooke argue who is going to marry Bentley.  Susan and Trent are so fun and Tatum is adorable.  We were excited to spend some time with them because we didn't know we were moving yet!

 The girls were totally pooped out and they would not wake up for anything!  Spencer was so tired too.  I thought William would have a hard time going to sleep but he begged for his bed.  We have become good at staying in hotels since we drove from Vegas to Iowa.  The kids know the drill.  Thank goodness!
