Kellie and Spencer Visit! (August)
Woo hoo! We had our first Cedar Falls visitors. Kellie and Spencer came for a few days. We kept it a secret from the kids, so when we picked them up, they almost didn't see them! It was a great reunion. Been a few years since we last saw them. We went right to Nauvoo. First to Carthage Jail, which is always an amazing experience. It is so awesome that our kids get to have these faith growing experiences so young. Grateful for the chance to live out here!
Reunited and it feels so good! Spencer and Spencer together again.
Kellie and Spencer watched the kids one of the days so Blake and I could go to the temple together. That sure doesn't happen enough, so we were so grateful for them!
They brought the kids gifts too. William still loves that truck and has slept with it!
We went to this little kid's spot called Pioneer Pasttimes. They can pretend Pioneer life. They were so cute to watch. Brooke is so sweet here.
Spencer kicked butt at this manual labor. It's more fun when you aren't doing it everyday, I am sure! But he would have made one tough pioneer man. He loves man work.
Hailey as a beautiful pioneer girl. There were little log cabins that they played in and make food. They played there for two hours and would have stayed longer! Luckily, it wasn't a horrible humid Nauvoo day.
Stick pull contest. I can't remember who one. Probably Spencer he he.
Our mighty Mississippi and the lily pads in bloom.
What do brothers do together? Of course, communicate through video games.
The girls did a makeover party, prepping for back to school. Face masks and painting toe nails.
William chilling on me.
William started to get really awesome with a spoon. He is so independent and only wants to eat by himself.
On Sunday, it rained most of the day, but we were able to take them around to some of the pretty areas. Monday, we took them to Popeyes, a great chicken place out here. I think this was my last Dr. Pepper ever!
Kellie and I went shopping one morning at Hobby Lobby and Target. Was just like old times. Those are our happy places. Love having sisters in law who enjoys the finer things in life!
And before our goodbye. Man, it was hard to say goodbye. It is so weird to think we are so far away from our families, but it was so great to see them! The kids still ask when they are coming back. Thank you Kellie and Spencer!
