Texas!

Image
Before I start on my awesome Texas trip, I just had to post some pictures of our new wood floor (6 months old), don't mind the mess. and our garden! It is growing nicely.=) For my tax return prize, I got to go to College Station, Texas and visit my friend Allison and her family. We lived in some apartments in Vegas together and only knew each other for about a year, but it was instant friendship! Here we are at my first Texas BBQ experience. Notice the folding chairs and wax paper plates. It was so yummy! Brooke was permitted to come with me this time. She is such a great baby. So great!! She even slept well and was happy and played with Allison's kids happily. We went on a picnic to where Allison's husband Mike, goes to school at Texas A & M. It was beautiful! I could definitely get used to scenery like this. I have been to Texas once before when Blake was in the military in San Antonio. It is beautiful! I could even stand the humidity if I could live in trees...

Valley of Fire

Image
A few weeks ago, my family and I went on a day trip to Valley of Fire. Blake had to study so it was my parents, Michelle and her family, Sarah and Clint. It was fun to get out and see other parts of Nevada. This is after Spencer threw a ten minute tantrum in the middle of a very sandy walk. I had Brooke attached to me, so I had to carry Spencer and Brooke ten minutes back to the car through a very sandy walk. That was definitely not the highlight! Cousins squishing bugs. Chad caught a lizard and his tail, well, mostly his tail. Hailey's face says it all! I just loved this shot. I loved how it shows Spencer at the beginning of his journey and that there is so much more to come. Spencer climbed up and down these stairs twice! I think there were 83!

Busy Days

Notice Spencer's hand behind his back reaching for the water nozzle! Brooke is 8 months and sits in the high chair....sad and happy! Good buds. Spencer is so great with Brooke. He is so sweet and loves her! The weather has been perfect recently! Our flower garden beginnings! Our family knows a lot of people who have passed away recently. I thought it might be a good idea to take Hailey to the cemetery and she had the great idea to bring flowers. So, we visited the people we know and talked about Jesus and the resurrection and it was a wonderful lesson. Hailey is really into planting things. She ripped a bunch of leaves of the bushes and made this. He loves the little oranges! Yoga queen! This is how Brooke crawls. She stood up the other day on her own. She only wants to sit up most of the time so that is what she does! Spencer has started having friends over. It has been good for him and he doesn't even care that most of the kids we know his age are girls. Sweet little Broo...

Sunsets

Las Vegas can look pretty desolate at times. Recently though, we have been having some beautiful sunsets. I'm not sure if it's just pollution in the air or what, but it is sure beauitful!

Spencer's Hospital Stay

Image
I hate how Blogger always puts my pictures in the wrong order. Ah well. About a month ago, Spencer and Kellie were visiting when little Spencer had an allergic reaction to either amoxicillan or strawberries. We got back from an action packed date night at Fry's Electronics when we found Spencer pretty tired and very swollen. He was crying every time we tried to touch him. His shoes were squishing his little feet because his feet were so swollen. It was awful! Blake and big Spencer took him to the hospital while I got Brooke to bed. The only funny part about this experience is Blake and Spencer walking into the hospital and the nurse asking them "Which of you is the father?" Interesting..... After a lot of medications, an IV, and a catheter (poor guy) Spencer was transferred to another hospital where he got to go on his first ambulance ride. Too bad it was at about 2 in the morning and he was feeling so crappy. We got to the hospital and fell asleep around 4 am. Whe...

Happy Easter!

Image
Easter was great. On a side note, I think the Easter bunny is about the dumbest tradition ever. I tried to tell Hailey there was no Easter bunny (she has never cared about him/it/her), but she started bawling, so I told her there was one. Doh. Anyhow, "The Easter Bunny" brought a fire truck, a glow worm and a lite brite. It was fun. They loved it. Grandma and Papa came over for breakfast Sunday morning and despite my mom thinking Brooke hates her, she snuggled right up to her. The kid loves chocolate!!! Had an Easter egg hunt with our playgroup. Perfect weather +candy=happy kids! I thought this was so sweet! I love that Dillon and Spencer are close to the same age and like each other. Can't wait for them to cause real problems ie. flood my bedroom like my brother Clayton and cousin Lincoln did when they were younger!
