My Sister Sarah came to Visit!

My sister Sarah came out for a weekend visit.  She is our first visitor from my family out here.  It was so great to see her and she was so excited to be in Iowa and Illinois and kept asking which state we were in. It was fun.=) 
 We met Blake for lunch at a delicious pizza/Italian place called Pagalos.  

 We went to Antique Archaeology which is the home of the American Pickers.  It's a few minutes from our house.
 The river was gorgeous that day!
 We kept trying to take a picture together and didn't realize that it was zoomed in.  Lots of laughing.
 There, better.
 We wandered around Target for two hours and acted like idiots.  It was so great to not feel like mom!  I forgot that with all the stress of moving and kids that I could be super hilarious and immature.  We took about 20 pictures of us in these glasses.
 Then we gave each other super awesome makeovers and walked around the store like this.  I have no shame anymore. I am a mom.  Also, if you make fun of me, I will perform a Harry Potter magic spell on you.
 Sarah has a thing for cemeteries so we went to the one in LeClaire and she thought it was hilarious that the last name was Coffin and the person was in a Coffin.

 Sarah's first time meeting William.  Pretty fun.
 She enjoyed the railroad tracks.
 Sarah was doing a ballerina dance and stuck her hand in the air and accidentally hit the fan.  It was a crying/laughing experience.  Poor girl!
 We had all planned on going to Nauvoo and going to the temple but Blake ended up having to work all night, so he stayed with the kids and Sarah, William and I went.  It was so great to have a full day with Sarah and just William to worry about. How did I ever think one kid was hard?!  We went to Carthage Jail.
 We were going to go to the temple but Sarah had forgotten her temple recommend in Las Vegas, so we did a lot of touristy things.  
 I though this was neat because some missionaries found this bowl all broke and reassembled it like a puzzle!  It must have taken a long time.  Just so neat to see an old artifact.
 We went on a wagon ride through the countryside where we heard stories about the saints. We stopped in a grove that was so silent and still and sang I am a Child of God. It was a wonderful experience.  William was so good the whole time!

We had a great time. I was sad to see her go but I am pretty sure she wants to move out here now! Thanks for coming out Sarah!

Oh, man! There is nothing better than having family come to visit when you live far away from them. And did you know that we live in your parents' mission?! We are going to try and have then for dinner!

We have been doing a lot of swimming, popsicle eating, water playing, anything to keep cool in this awful heat! This $15 pool was the best purchase we have ever made, in my opinion! Spencer loves it because it is just a big bath for him. Some people in our ward "donate" their pools to us hot people. It is great. This is Spencer's first swim. Poor kid. Believe it or not, he did enjoy it. Hailey swam across the pool with her floaties, so she was pretty psyched. About ten seconds after the swimming. He was so pooped!

Spencer getting ready to become a Priest for church. He was pretty happy about it and his new responsibilities. Wlliam always being slightly choked. Blake hung up my organizer I got from Marci Durrant's barn sale We had pasta making night competition. It was so fun to use our new pasta roller. Hailey and Spencer and Blake were a team. Brooke and William and I were a team. We really need to do this again! First time Spencer did temple baptisms where he was the baptizer. He baptized Taitlyn! Woo! Lovely winter sunset Made something new! The boys ate them right up! Lunch with Hailey! Another fun bakery order! That's it for January! Always a bit exhausted after December.

Brookey Brooke

Brooke Eileen Bell was born Aug 24th at 11:11 pm. 7 lbs, 15 oz, 20 inches.....and tons of great black hair!! Heres the story for all you interested people. I had cleaned the house all day and played with the kids. Was about to make dinner around 4 and started to feel a little weird and crampy, but didn't think much about it. Around 5, I was making chocolate chip waffles for dinner and realized the contractions had gone on for an hour and were about 3 minutes apart now. Called Blake and said I might be in labor, but don't worry, it would probably go away. Kept making waffles...called my mom and told her I was probably in labor. Blake got home, left for hospital around 6. We went to the ER and they said go to labor and delivery. Around 630, I was at a 4. Got all set up on IV and by the time epidural came around 830, I was at a 6. Moved to a 10 pretty fast after. Pushed a few times and there she was!!
