4th of July

Finally we completed this portion of the front room. No, the piano didn't stay there and now the wall looks different, but we did complete it within a month of moving in, so were pretty excited about that!
I love this boy and this reading nook.
This random photographer came up to us at the park and said he was taking pictures of red heads for a project.  After making sure he wasn't creepy (he wasn't), he got a few shots of us and I love them.  The only thing I am missing in this picture is Spencer who was off playing.
Hooray after the park we went and got hot dogs and ice cream at Dairy Queen with a gift certificate our realtor gave us.  It was nice to just have a fun summer day after working so much on the house! Notice Spencer in long pants and a jacket.  He loves warm clothes.
William fell asleep on me after we got back from ice cream.  We were reading a story with Brooke and he just fell asleep.  I loved snuggling him because he doesn't slow down much these days.  It was one of those mothering moments when you forget every frustrating thing that has ever happened!
 Serious s'mores time.
We had some friends come over for s'mores and the fire pit.  The kids loved playing up and down the street since we don't have many cars that go by.
4th of July was pretty great.  We got a flag since we couldn't find our old one.  I love this holiday.  It's just a blessing to live in America.
We went to our friend's, the Pence's house and had lunch and lawn games.  The kids did laser tag and it was a super sweaty day so we all were pretty tired when it was done.
William's cheese faces make me so happy.

Nolan is such a good boy.  He is always really friendly to my kids even though he is older.  Every time William sees him he says, "That's my friend."  Love older kids who are nice to my kids.
Blake and I were playing lawn games and I had to keep running for the ball, which he thought was hilarious.  Love that man.
When we got home, we took a rest and then got the hose out so we could cool off. It was really such a hot day!
Backlit trees are some of my favorites.
I took the kids to the park because they were going insane waiting for the fireworks.  William's bum is just the best.
 Brooke is a buff woman.
Fireworks are pretty small out here because street ones are illegal. But we had a pretty good time anyway minus the kids waving them and almost catching their hair on fire.

We parked up where the fireworks are and waited a looong time for them but it was worth it.  They were pretty great.  William even fell asleep watching them and when he woke up, he said, "Where are the fireworks?"

Peeked out the window and saw Hailey reading to all the kids. Don't mess up something awesome!
