Christmas Break

These cinnamon rolls again, they were perfection!!  We made a bunch and then gave some to some friends who said they were perfect too.  Then, my friend, Julianne, who loves the recipe too brought some to us.  It was a happy day.
Found William finishing off the last of the milk.  Grossest habit! But still so cute.
William with his train set from Christmas.  He just loved it.  It's so cute to watch him push them around. We combined all the sets we have so it's a huge train track.
Hailey got a nail polish kit from Grandma Terry so she did our nails.  Just beautiful.
We had a late night game night of Sleeping Queens, the most random game ever.  It was really fun.

We loved getting Christmas cards from our friends all over.  It's always fun when you live away from most people you have known for a long time.
Spencer combined three cereals together because he wanted to be like Buddy the Elf.  He also has been reading Junie B. Jones alot. I thought that was funny because it's a "girl book".  But his teacher Mrs. L-R has gotten him into them.
We went to a children's museum in Iowa City with Grandma Barb.  It was their gift from her.  We were there for hours and they never got bored.  It was so fun to see Barb.  When the kids saw her, they all hugged her at the same time.  We love her!
Brooke played in the doctor section for a long time.  She loves the human body.  I always tell her she should be a nurse because she loves taking care of people and loves blood.
Spencer made an awesome pizza. Mostly meat of course!
Making music. Talk about a loud area!
Spencer delivered the mail.
They had a flight section, which was pretty cool.
William climbed up these stairs 5 or 6 times to go down the slide.  He took a nap in the car on the way home and still went to sleep at his normal bedtime.
Hailey made a paper rocket that she could propel.  It was pretty cool. She let other kids use it because hers worked so great.
These were suction tubes.  You could put balls in them and they would be sucked all through the tubes.  Kept Brooke occupied for 30 minutes and would have kept going!

This was at the end of the museum and was supposed to be used for building, but the kids turned it into this.  The workers found out and said they had to only build with them. Bummer.
We had our favorite ice cream, Whitey's, courtesy of Grandma Barb. It really is the best.  Probably good that we don't live near them anymore!
We got cupcakes after the library one day.  The library had a craft every day and there is always so much to do.  I love that they love reading!
These were the ornaments for the year.  We found all of them eventually, but these are Hailey's and Williams.  I realized the kids didn't have any Jesus ornaments and that is just wrong! I though they would like making their own this year.
This was my ornament this year.  Blake started a Christmas village.  It's a church and I love it.
Spencer gave me this plant three years ago and it is still growing.
It was so cold at the end of December that we used outside as a freezer.  It was super convenient when Hailey made these pumpkin cookie ice cream sandwiches.  She made them on her own and only got frustrated once.
For New Years, we had our friends, the Gardner's come hang out.  We played games and had snacks and scones.  And their baby Sadie is just the cutest thing ever!
Happy New Years!  The kids made it to 10 and Hailey was 1 or 2? I don't know. I went to bed at 12:01.  Ha.  We made these poppers and played hide and go seek. It was pretty fun.
Made some bread out of the rest of the scones dough and it was the best white bread ever!  It's from my Great Grandma.  How did I not make this before?
Happy New Year! We made it!
Hailey has issues with getting rid of holey socks so she made a darning tool and fixed them.  What a pioneer.
Spencer came shopping with me one day.  He saw Easy cheese and said he always wanted to try it. Yuck! But he chose it for his thing to buy from the store that time.  So funny.  That stuff is so good and so gross at the same time!  We had a great Christmas break together.  Only spent half a day cleaning bedrooms and had fun doing other things.  Loved having my kids home.
